Trade Shows- The New Go to for Businesses?

Trade shows are now an emerging trend in everyday business. Trade shows invite customers to become co-creators in a project, while for the service providers, the act of including the customer in the creation process creates a better relationship with the customer and reinforces the company image, but it also gives them valuable feedback and data from a sector/area of business that they might not have been too sure about before. These shows are constructive and they also help to promote business in local areas, long may it continue!

Facebook Live Broadcasting- The New Norm

Nowadays, anyone going to a corporate event has heard the line ‘Say hello, we’re on Facebook Live’. This seems to be the new norm in events. There is a practical sense to this, as it is a newer form of ‘Facebook advertising’, which is basically companies taking advantage of the reach of Facebook for marketing purposes. The novelty in being able to broadcast live through the medium of Facebook is deemed valid to some companies. I can see it being used a lot more in the future, which is something Facebook will surely exploit commercially in the future.

Golden Rules of Event Management

Planning an event for a company is a huge undertaking as it is, to avoid unnecessary stress, follow these simple steps:

  • Book your venue well in advance: Venues can be very hard to find, depending on the time of the year, and you might not get the venue you thought would be suitable for the event. Plan at least 6 months in advance and always have an alternate venue.
  • Create a reliable RSVP system: This will give you a view of how many people you can expect to come to the event and you may then be able to tailor the programme even more to suit the crowd expected.
  • Give guests lots of time: Give guests 3-4 months notice ahead of time, so they can incorporate it into their schedules and send lapsed reminders 6 weeks and then 2 weeks before the event.
  • Give your guests information on the event: With the invitation, give some info about the programme of events, what guest speakers are attending and you could include a surprise or two to keep them on their toes.

Follow these steps and you’ll be halfway to running a great event!

Good luck 🙂
